New Deck and Pool area for Resort Style Living

These clients had an existing above ground pool but the area looked unfinished and was not user-friendly as the current deck stopped at the edge of the pool.  With the deck being at the end of it’s useful life they commissioned Watco Constructions to design their new pool area. The existing deck was ripped up, any rotten bearers replaced and re-levelled.  New decking was laid around the pool area giving a large useful space for the children to play and adults to lounge. Glass pool fencing was utilised to comply with current regulations while maintaining a seamless resort-style look.  Our clients are making use of their new space every day now in the hot Townsville summer!

Extension gives character home a new lease of life for growing family

These clients loved the location of their home with its bucket-loads of character however with their growing children they needed more room.  Watco Constructions completed an extension to the rear of the dwelling to provide a new kitchen, living area and patio, freeing up space in the existing home for a reconfiguration of bedrooms.  The extension is completed with crisp white paint, timber framed windows and modern polished concrete floors – the perfect backdrop for the owner’s stunning artwork and retro taste!

Master Bedroom & Ensuite transformation

These clients had an existing space in their home that was currently underutilised and due to their growing children decided to move the Master Bedroom and Ensuite downstairs. All rooms were completely gutted and resheeted and new windows and screens were installed including enlarging the window opening in the ensuite to increase natural daylight. Custom cabinetry was designed to utilise the full length of one wall in the bedroom and fit neatly around the window.  The vanity in the ensuite was also custom made to tie the two rooms together. The project was completed on schedule allowing our clients to move in  before Christmas and start enjoying their new space.

Bathroom Revivals

Our clients had just bought a house perched high in the Belgian Garden hills with an awesome view over Townsville.  While the view was great, the house needed a tidy up to allow our clients to fully enjoy their new lifestyle. We completely gutted both bathrooms and working in conjunction with an interior designer, came up with a layout that would maximise the feeling of space within a tight area.  With clever use of feature tiling, custom cabinetry and semi-frameless shower screens our brief of a modern yet workable space was acheived. We also cut the entry wall down to half height and added a clear stained timber handrail to tie in with the stair treads and create a sense of grandeur on entry.  The whole project was completed before our clients moved into the home to minimise disruption – now there is nothing to be done but sit back and enjoy their new lifestyle!

West-End Cottage Renovation

Our latest renovation has transformed an old miners cottage located in West End into a modern and stylish home, while still maintaining its traditional charm. Several walls were removed to give an open spacious living area and large windows installed to increase natural light and show off the polished timber floor boards. A gable entry was constructed to add interest to the roof line and provide a focal point. In keeping with the homes age, horizontal tongue and groove boards were utilised on all internal walls. All the latest appliances and features were added including built-in robes, flyscreens, split system air-conditioning units and an all-new kitchen and bathroom. Extensive landscaping was also carried out to make the property low maintenance while still retaining the tropical feel. The fencing was also completed by Watco Constructions.

High-set Renovation

Recently we completed renovation of a tropical highset home in Townsville.  The 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom home was already built-in underneath and had the potential to really shine with some attention. Our works included removing a wall separating the living and kitchen areas to create a modern open-plan space, installing a spacious kitchen with up-to-date fixtures and modernising the existing bathroom area to tie-in with the rest of the home. One exceptional feature of the house was the hardwood flooring which was hidden beneath an old white wash coating.  The floors were stripped back and re-sealed with a gloss finish and this has transformed the home! Additionally the entire house was painted inside and out and extensive landscaping undertaken to give a fresh facelift. One challenge was the pool fence requirements as the existing timber fence on the street frontage served as a pool fence but did not meet current standards.  This was updated with modern powder coated aluminium slatted fencing which not only gives the property a streamlined street appeal but met the pool safety requirements.

Character Home Bathroom Renovations

This character home in Mackay, Queensland was desperate for a re-modelling of it’s 2 bathrooms. The fixtures and finishes were selected by Bold Interiors in conjunction with the client to create a restful colour scheme and glamorous feel. While updating the bathrooms to modern fixtures we were able to maintain their period charm in keeping with the home’s character as a whole.  As the home had 2 bathrooms we were able to complete the renovation of one before moving onto the next, therefore minimising disruption to the clients who continued to live in the house for the duration of the project.

Tropical Master Bedroom & Ensuite Renovation

This renovation was designed by Bold Architecture to re-use the existing space more efficiently. Once completed it provided the client with a large ensuite and a private deck off the bedroom to enjoy the tropical gardens. The quality of fixtures was exceptional with a solid timber wall hung vanity and solid timber shelving built in to the bedroom and ensuite walls.  Custom-made cedar sliding glass doors opening from the bedroom onto the deck were utilised to blend the renovation in with the existing house.
